Mrs Claire Worrell

Claire Worrell began her teaching career after graduating from the University of Birmingham with a B.A. in geography. She taught both physical and human geography to senior students at an independent girls’ school in North London and later decided to return to university to study for a P.G.C.E. in primary education at the University of Cambridge. Claire has taught across the curriculum in both independent and state primary schools. Her teaching roles to date span every key stage from EYFS to Year 13 and her positions of responsibility include Head of Geography, Director of Music and Director of Studies. Claire is passionate about helping children to realise their potential and about creating opportunities that evoke energy, curiosity and a sense of discovery and achievement in every individual. Claire lives locally with her husband who works in IT. Her daughter graduated in Neuroscience and her son graduated in Accounting and Finance. Claire is the Deputy Head of Prep (Curriculum) and she is proud to be part of the dedicated team of staff at Abbot’s Hill School. She is very much looking forward to taking up the role of Acting Head of Prep in the Spring Term 2022.
